The Dewalt DCK211S2 12-Volt Drill/Impact Driver Combo includes the Dewalt DCD710 Drill/Driver and the Dewalt DCF815 Impact Driver giving you the best of both worlds in one cost-effective package. Both are  compact and lightweight for use in small spaces, and have 3 LEDs around the chuck to illuminate your work. The drill/driver delivers quiet, controlled power with its two-speed gearbox and 15-position clutch, while the impact driver offers speed and power with 79 ft-pounds of torque for maximum driving power.

One of the reasons these compact, lightweight 12-Volt combos are so popular is because the tools are powerful enough for most everyday jobs at a price that’s not much more than each individual tool – only $139.50. You get a lot of tool for your money.

What to Look for When Buying a Cordless Drill and Impact Driver
There are a number of things to look for when buying a cordless drill. The most important are the number of volts, the battery, the weight of the drill and the speed.

How Many Volts?
One of the most important components of a cordless drill is the number of volts. The greater the volts the faster the motor spins and therefore the more powerful the drill. It does have a downside however in that generally the more volts you have the heavier the battery and therefore the heavier the drill will be. So you need to keep this in mind when choosing a drill. Think about whether you will be using it for long periods. If so, you don’t want anything too heavy – you will really be feeling it by the end of the day. These compact, lightweight Dewalt 12-Volt tools are powerful enough for most jobs but you have to bear in mind that they will not and cannot compete with 18-Volt tools for power – their advantage is that at only 2.4 pounds for the drill/driver and 2.3 pounds for the impact driver you can use them all day long. In addition, they’re very compact measuring 7-1/2″ for the drill/driver  and 6-1/4″ for the impact driver allowing them to get in places that many of the bulkier 18-Volt tools can’t fit, so you can use it in tight spaces like under sinks, and in corners, or a closet.

Lithium-Ion Batteries for Long-Lasting, Quick-Charging Performance
The Dewalt DCK211S2 Cordless Drill/Impact Driver Combo utilizes state-of-art lithium-ion battery technology to provide maximum battery life and quick charging – the recharge time of these battery packs is between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Lithium-ion batteries are also lighter than comparable 12-volt batteries, helping to keep the weight down.

DCD710 Drill/Driver: Dual Speed Range for Versatility and Control
If you’ve ever tried to drive a screw at high speed you’ll know that the screw can jump out of the slot which is not only annoying, but it can be dangerous. The beauty of these Dewalt cordless tools is that they offers the convenience of a dual speed range of 0-400 and 0-1,500 rpm for optimal versatility. With 15 clutch settings on the DCD710 Drill/Driver you can match the best speed to the job, giving you the option of adjusting the speed of the drill and slow it down resulting in more control – so you have less chance of screws flying across the room.

DCF815 Impact Driver: Single Speed range
The DCF815 Impact Driver has a single speed range of 0-2,450rpm, and provides 3,400 impacts per minute with 79ft-lbs of torque. Unlike cordless drill/drivers, impact drivers are specifically designed to do one job: drive screws. As a result the DCF815 Impact Driver has only a single speed range, which is much slower than the DCD710 Drill/Driver, and doesn’t have – or need – a slip clutch. The combination of bit rotation and concussive blows provides improved screw-driving power, but requires less muscle from the user. Impact drivers are also much less likely to strip screw heads and at 6-1/4 inches long, the Dewalt driver is designed to fit into small spaces where traditional impact drivers don’t – as a result, you get straight penetration and avoid damaging bits from angled driving attempts. The short length of the Dewalt means you can apply maximum leverage, enabling you to get the most from this impact driver’s 79ft-lbs of torque.
